Superior Quality

Onesource Water employs a new technology that uses bottleless water coolers which provide your children the cleanest, best-tasting pure water available. In addition to a great, clean taste, this technology provides a signficant positive impact on the environment!

How It Works

This technology takes ordinary tap water and purifies it right on the spot. Then the water is stored in an airtight stainless-steel tank and not in plastic jugs.

Self-Cleaning and Oxygenated

Water goes through an oxygen injection and is sanitized in the tank, eliminating 100% of microbiological contamination. Nitrates, arsenic, lead, mercury and pharmaceutical by-products and other impurities are removed as well. This process delivers clean, great tasting pure water.

No Dirty Hands Near Your Water

A digital control panel keeps hands away from the water spout significantly reducing contamination and the spread of germs and bateria among staff and children.

2011 Awards Announced from Kids R Kids International

Once again, Kids R Kids Castle Hills has claimed the highest possible award category for both health and safety and curriculum delivery!

We claimed the “Platinum” award for the forth year in a row. We have received this award every eligible year since we opened. We received 7,147 out of 7,300 possible points for a score of 98%. This unannounced inspection focuses on health, safety, facilities, equipment & material, and supervision & program. Approximately 15% to 20% of the 170 KRK schools nation-wide achieve this level.

Additionally, we claimed “Hug Above the Rest” for the third year in a row. Last year was the first year this award was offered by KRK International. The “Hug Above the Rest” award focuses solely on curriculum facilitation and classroom management. Approximately, only 8% to 10% of the 170 KRK schools nation-wide achieve this level. The reason this is a very difficult award to receive is because the auditors check 43 elements within each room including: Physical Environment, Teacher Interaction, Classroom Management, and Learning Stations. All 12 classrooms must score 100% to achieve “Hug Above the Rest.”

It is because we have maintained Platinum (health & safety) and Hug Above the Rest (Program) levels that we can continue to be classified with "Learning Academy" status instead of the normal "Schools of Quality Learning" status by KRK corporate.

This makes us so much more than a typical day care!

We are so proud of our staff and teachers! Achieving this exceptional level of performance as judged by corporate auditors doesn`t happen by chance. It takes intentional effort to achieve this level of success. Congratulations to the team of Kids R Kids Castle Hills! We are so proud to serve the Carrollton and Castle Hill area and will strive to always provide the best service in the area.

We understand that choosing the right school for your child can be overwhelming. So we make it easier by providing curriculum-driven programs in upscale, state-of-the-art centers, complete with camera access and led by trained professionals. What age children do you accept?

Children beginning with ages 6 weeks through 12 years

Is transportation provided to local schools?

Yes, our centers have school buses with seat belts to transport children to and from school in the morning and afternoon. We currently service the following elementary schools: Castle Hills, Coyote Ridge, Hebron Valley, Homestead, Independence, Indian Creek, and Polser. However, we currently only provide morning service to Coyote Ridge. If you need morning transportation to one of the other schools we service, please contact the front desk to find out if that is an availble option.

Are field trips offered for the children?

Yes, our buses are available for area field trips. We transport children who meet the state's age requirements. Predominantly, field trips are taken in the summer (at least two times a week) for school age children who participant in our weekly camp program. These children are given opportunities to see their community and other places of interest. We have attended professional sporting events, visited area museums, and toured the zoo. We have also taken our campers to lots of entertainment venues. We provide fun and learning for the children and guarantee the maximum protection plan for parent's peace of mind.

Is playtime/outdoor time available?

Yes, our schools are equipped with three to four areas of outside play. The children have scheduled times in the morning and the afternoon to explore their outside world. As an added safety feature, our schools have six- to nine-foot fencing around the outside perimeter of the play areas. The play equipment is state-of-the-art, and Kids 'R' Kids abides by the federal regulations on safety equipment and the surrounding fall zones.

Is your staff trained?

Yes, the Kids 'R' Kids faculty are required to follow the state regulations that apply to training. All staff are trained in First Aid/CPR, Infectious Disease Control, Injury Prevention, and Child Abuse Awareness. Additional training in curriculum, child development, classroom arrangement, classroom management, age-appropriate activities, nutrition, field trip planning and OSHA regulations provide the skills needed to create a quality learning environment. The staff is encouraged to further their education through CDA and CCP programs and are given opportunities to attend professional training conferences.

Is there internet viewing of my child at your center?

Yes, our complimentaray internet viewing system can connect parents and family members to their child while at work or thousands of miles away. Through a secured internet site and unique password, you can observe your child's daily activities through your computer. The Parent's Role
The relationship between parents and school staff is vital to the success of a child´s experience. A partnership must be formed the first day with open communication and understanding that the development and growth of the child is our top priority.

Find out about our Kindergarten Program!

As your Pre-Kindergarten student advances to Kindergarten, Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills has just what you are looking for! Our Private Kindergarten program offers a variety of advantages for your child including a standards-based curriculum, engaging learning stations, SmartBoard technologies and many creative activities that get children excited to learn.

With all of our programs, we offer Watch Me Grow online viewing to give you a window into your child's classroom. You will find that our small class sizes make it easy for your child to receive an abundance of love and academic learning throughout the day.

Meet the Program: Here at Kids R Kids we follow the Lewisville ISD and Frisco ISD scope and sequence as well as adhere to national and state, TEKS, standards. We value learning through play as our Kindergarteners grow in their academic understanding.

Readers' Workshop: Every child learns differently, that's why we have four different learning opportunities to discover and apply new reading skills: “Read to Self”, “Learn Together”, “Table Work”, and “Stations”.

Writers' Workshop: Adapting the Lucy Calkin's Curriculum to fit the students at Kids R Kids, we make it our goal to help our students write daily. Students begin the year by writing stories about themselves and continue through the year by learning about nonfiction writing, making posters, making lists, writing book reports, and developing strong story lines.

Life Skills: Unique to Kids R Kids, we learn a new life skill every month. Students will learn many things like tying their shoes, telling time, using money wisely, writing a letter, and how to take care of themselves.

Handwriting: We've adopted the “Handwriting Without Tears”curriculum to help teach our students accurate and neat penmanship. Every day they build on their fine motor skills to develop nice handwriting.

Science: Discovery and investigations is the basis of the hands on science approach. Doing experiments, going on scavenger hunts, and exploring with their 5 senses students will observe and interact with the world around them.

Math Workshop: Much like Readers'Workshop, there are three different ways students learn during Math- “Learn Together”, “Table Work”, and “Stations”. Students investigate different math strategies together, then break off into table groups and apply what they know on paper. Last they apply it again by playing learning games.

Children must be five years of age by September 1, 2014 to qualify for admission to the program this fall. Extended care options are available with the program so parents who need before/after school care can know their children are in a safe and licensed environment all day.

We would love for you to contact us and schedule a free tour of our facility! You will see for yourself that we are so much more than a daycare or preschool. We are a Learning Academy dedicated to your child's education and future!

- Health and Fitness – Through the comforts and convenience of technology and fast food, recent studies show that childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions in our society. Here at Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills, we know how important physical activity is to every child's development. Our center includes the Kids 'R' Kids Health and Fitness Challenge that provides the necessary tools for kids of all ages to learn and enjoy how to be healthy. This curriculum emphasizes physical fitness, the food pyramid, and family-style dining. Through various activities, children learn the importance of fair play, team cooperation, and physical well-being.

- Foreign Language – The early childhood years are the best time to learn another language. In fact, a child's brain is designed to learn multiple languages! To take advantage of this unique ability, we offer Spanish on Wheels as an innovative way to teach your child the many values of diversity and communication.

- Dance – Every child, no matter the age, can express themselves with music and movement. Dancing helps to unlock their imagination through free interpretation or choreographed movements. We love watching our children delight in their movements and gain a sense of accomplishment as they participate in each dance class.

- Martial Arts – The principles from this ancient art teach children self-discipline and encourage physical prowess. As they participate, children learn to respect others and regulate their own actions.

- Music - Our music program exposes children to a variety of musical styles, cultures, and techniques that help to awaken their inner abilities. Music is a powerful tool in shaping and developing the brain. Children have the opportunity to play instruments, engage in singing exercises, as well as compose their very own musical masterpiece!

- Computers – Our future is full of new and developing technologies. With that truth in mind, Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills provides your child with the latest in electronic lessons and games to support the educational themes taught in school.

This tool offers strategies and activities that reflect the latest scientific research for pre-literacy and mathematics concept acquisition in young children. We have added these systems to our Kindergarten, Pre-K, and Preschool as of September 2010.

Additionally, Kids R Kids International has formed a partnership with Hatch Inc. to integrate activities from Kids R Kids` AdvancED accredited programs into the software that drives the TeachSmart® Learning Systems.

Our Kids 'R' Kids curriculum is founded upon the educational theories of Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, and Sara Smilansky. These three educational theorists guide our decisions for age appropriate learning experiences for children. Our schools are designed so that children learn through peer and teacher interaction in a creative and safe environment as put forth by Vygotsky's theories of the development of the young mind. Our curriculum scaffolds teaching strategies for every classroom age grouping using Piaget's framework of proposed stages in a child's developing ability to learn. Finally, we believe in Smilansky's teachings of learning through play. Our curriculum includes a plethora of playtime both outside and in the classroom, giving the children the freedom to create and explore their world.

All of these child development theorists agree young children learn best by taking an active part in constructing meaning from the world around them. Another proponent of educational constructivism is the Montessori method of teaching. Though similar in philosophy to Vygotsky, Piaget, and Smilansky's methods, the Montessori approach to education has some unique differences. Listed is a comparative chart between Kids 'R' Kids'teaching philosophy and those attributed to the Montessori teaching method for young children.

Kid Orange Tech provides educational solutions for 21st century kids by supporting educators and parents in implementing technology responsibly into children's lives. We believe technology has the ability to enrich a child's life when used as an additional learning tool and is not intended to replace traditional play or an existing school curriculum. Also, the use of technology in the home can be an advantage to a child if educators can more easily communicate a child's learning goals so that a parent can reinforce what is being taught in school.

Our Brain Waves™ Exclusive Curriculum

The first five years of your child’s life is a critical time when their brain is developing and brain cells are forming connections for learning and future success in school.

During these early years, the experiences and interactions your child has will determine which brain cells are activated and which ones are pruned away from lack of stimulation.

Your child’s learning environment has tremendous impact on brain development.
At Kids ‘R’ Kids, we use strategies from our Brain Waves™ curriculum to support neural pathways for language, social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development during these critical years.

Ten Important Brain Facts Parents Should Know

1. The first brain cell is born two days after conception and two weeks after conception it is expanding at 500,000 cells a minute.
2. At birth the brain will have 100 billion neurons, only 17% are activated.
3. The brain activates from the bottom to the top and from the back to the front.
4. Each brain cell has a short and finite time frame in which it can be activated. If the individual cell does not get activated within that time frame, it dies and will never be replaced.
5. 80 billion of the 100 billion total cells are activated or die before the child reaches their 6th birthday.
6. Each activated brain cell can maintain between 10,000 and 15,000 synapses or connections to other brain cells. Each cell we activate creates a huge multiplier effect on the future success of the child.
7. The brain produces 800 neurological connections for every second it is properly stimulated.
8. Repetition is key to brain development. The more times a child hears a correct answer the stronger the neural pathway.
9. Social and emotional pathways are cemented after a single occurrence while things such as colors, shapes, letters and numbers require hundreds of repetitions to create the link.
10. Newly formed synapses are very fragile. They get cemented during sleep. Enough sleep is absolutely critical for proper brain development.

Our BrainWaves Curriculum begins with activities specifically created to stimulate and activate brain cells in all four separate regions or lobes of the brain. These activities have been designed for infants, toddlers and pre schoolers. Our curriculum provides for the perfect mix of interactive play and materials to stimulate development through repetition and by utilizing all five senses.  Birth through age five is the most important time in your child's life for brain development. That development will be maximized through the activities we have developed in our cutting edge Brain Waves Curriculum.

Brain Development the Kids ‘R’ Kids Way

Our philosophy is “Hug First, Then Teach” as we understand that secure and safe emotional attachment is vital for the growth and development of your child’s brain. Our classrooms are filled with stimulating materials that allow teachers to facilitate children’s exploration through sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch as these sensory experiences send information directly to the brain and form the platform for healthy brain growth.

We understand that each child is unique, so our teachers cater to different interests and learning styles. From infancy, your child will be exposed to many forms of language (including sign-language), and immersed in an environment rich in language and literacy. Our learning stations are filled with math manipulatives, science elements, and stimulating visuals that support brain pathways for cognitive development. Problem solving is considered one of the best ways to support brain development, so our teachers conduct activities to help children explore cause and effect and employ questioning strategies that promote higher level thinking.

Technology and the Brain

Technology is everywhere, so children need healthy exposure to be prepared for life in the 21st century. Research shows, however, that hours of exposure to digital technology can lead to over stimulation of the brain, fatigue, and irritability. At Kids ‘R’ Kids, we take a balanced approach to technology. Our curriculum has been integrated with ABCmouse, one of the latest early childhood technology tools, to enhance learning. With the guidance of a teacher, children engage in digital activities that build language, math, science, and fine motor skills.

Maximizing your Child’s Mental Capacity

We believe in a nurturing learning environment, hands-on play, and novel experiences that ignite your child’s curiosity. With our exclusive Brain Waves™ curriculum and quality teachers, our goal is to provide stimulating experiences that support brain development and maximize your child’s mental capacity.

STEAM AHEAD™ at Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies

In keeping with our mission of being The First Step to Higher Education® and our all-important role of fostering 21st century learners, Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies is proud to introduce STEAM AHEAD. Armed with the knowledge that the fields of science, technology and engineering are expected to grow by leaps and bounds over the course of the coming years, we have developed an exciting new supplementary curriculum. STEAM AHEAD combines elements of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics to expand the way our students not only learn, but also how they think about the world around them. When used in conjunction with a strong foundation from Kids 'R' Kids proprietary First Class Curriculum® and the brain development power of our exclusive Brain Waves™ curriculum, there are no limits to the possibilities our students' futures might hold.
Imagine a little girl who not only dreams of being a princess, but also wants to devise the design of her castle. Or a little boy who hopes to become a race car driver on a futuristic race track of his own imagining. Children will always have dreams and imaginations, and programs like STEAM AHEAD tap into those amazing little minds of theirs to make the regular use of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics seem virtually secondary nature. STEAM AHEAD is another powerful example of how Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies prepare our students for Kindergarten… and beyond.

What is STEAM AHEAD?

  • Kids 'R' Kids STEAM AHEAD is an integrated project-based curriculum incorporating more science, technology, engineering, art, and math into students' everyday learning through play.
  • Written for preschool students ages three to five, STEAM AHEAD is designed to be used as a supplement to the Kids 'R' Kids core curriculum.
  • STEAM AHEAD provides students with opportunities to be innovative, creative, and inventive as they build strong foundations in five core areas of their education.
  • STEAM AHEAD activities and projects are hands-on and bring together many facets of what students find interesting in a way that packs educational “AH HA” moments.

Why STEAM AHEAD?

  • Much the way Kids 'R' Kids station activities act as platforms for hands-on exploration opportunities, Kids 'R' Kids STEAM AHEAD allows students to learn by doing while developing problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Unlike academic learning of memorization with no logical or practical application, Kids 'R' Kids STEAM AHEAD projects encourage students to be natural scientists using reasoning, hypothesizing, predicting, and theorizing during the natural trial and error of play.
  • STEAM AHEAD activities enrich students everyday learning, support academic growth, and help inspire them to become lifelong learners.

The Teacher's Role as Facilitator:

  • Teachers create high quality learning environments that provide students with opportunities to observe, question, investigate, predict, experiment, build, and share what they learn.
  • Students and teachers explore STEAM AHEAD projects together. To tap into each student natural interests while facilitating learning, project materials are placed in learning stations for independent and small group exploration.
  • Teachers serve as guides while students participate in STEAM AHEAD projects, making observations of each student's development, and interests all along the way.
  • In an effort to develop students as students engage in STEAM AHEAD projects teachers encourage them to ask, Why?
  • Teachers may choose a combination of some or all of the STEAM AHEAD projects to present depending upon their students levels of ability, interest, and development.

We have comprehensive educational curriculum!

We are very excited, and extremely proud, to announce that Kids R Kids International is the first national early childhood education franchise to be granted district Accreditation from the AdvancED Accreditation Commission. This means that the district and all of its schools are accredited and that Kids R Kids Learning Academies are recognized across the nation as a quality school system.
Accreditation is a voluntary method of quality assurance developed more than 100 years ago by American universities and secondary schools, and designed primarily to distinguish schools adhering to a set of educational standards. The accreditation process is also known in terms of its ability to effectively drive student performance and continuous improvement in education. But such definitions, though accurate, are incomplete.

While accreditation is a set of rigorous protocols and research-based processes for evaluating an institution's organizational effectiveness, it is far more than that. Today accreditation examines the whole institution—the programs, the cultural context, the community of stakeholders—to determine how well the parts work together to meet the needs of students.

For many, accreditation is both a significant achievement pronouncing an institution's quality of education, as well as a remarkably enriching process for the institutions recognizing the tremendous competitive and performance gains it affords. Sadly, some schools approach accreditation as a necessary imposition which they must endure to secure the seal of accreditation, and the quicker they satisfy the requirements, the sooner they can return their attention to running their institutions. But it is those schools and school systems that see the untapped transformative power in the process of accreditation that are able to build true capacity to improve student learning and make continuous school improvement a distinctive reality.

It is the process of accreditation that yields the greatest continuing return for institutions. When approached properly, the internal self-assessment an institution conducts against a set of research-based quality standards can produce a wealth of galvanizing insights. Honest self-evaluation is unparalleled in its ability to uncover and bring into sharp focus special challenges for an institution that may not have been fully understood. The external review is the hallmark of the accreditation process, and like the internal self-assessment, it energizes and equips the leadership and stakeholders of an institution or school system to tackle those areas that may be thwarting desired performance levels.

For your convenience we have provided some of the forms utilized by our center. Please use these forms as needed. Acceptance of enrollment is based on space availability.

Amazing place!
KRK is an amazing school, with amazing teachers, and an amazing curriculum. You cannot go wrong, and Lauren, Gary and Angel are just wonderful people.
-Kendal B.
Thank you, KRK-Carrollton
My daughter started at 3 months old and is soon to be graduating into kindergarten. We are so grateful for the staff, as well as the owners, Gary and Angel, because every one of them has helped shape her development and growth. And, already for some time, she is already beyond the requirements of kindergarten. We have made a great decision bringing our baby here. You can feel confident bringing your most precious to be cared for, loved, and supported by the teachers here, too. They are genuine. Thank you, Kids R Kids, for providing us a very special place for our daughter.
-Christian C.
Peace of Mind is Priceless
When I started looking for daycares it was an easy decision to choose this daycare. It was the first school I toured and also the last. I didn't go to any others I didn't need to this was the place for us. From the moment you walk through the front door, a friendly face always greets you. I was always impressed by the fact that each person that works there knows every child's name! It's all the small things. I love having the cameras and the ability to watch what is happening whenever I can. The hardest thing about having a child in daycare is not being with them so this really takes some fear out of leaving your child in the care if another. I am also thrilled with the addition of Tadpoles! I can't get enough of the pictures, videos and daily updates. I really feel as though each of the ladies that my son is with truly cares for him and goes above and beyond to make sure he is okay. He has been attending this daycare for just about a year now, and I don't have anything negative to say about this daycare. People ask, "isn't it hard to leave your kid at daycare?" And to that I say no, as long as you're in the right place! Our son has had a few medical issues and the teachers are really wonderful about alerting me if he is "off" and might be getting sick again. They are always concerned with his well-being and want to make sure he is okay. Overall we have had a wonderful experience at Kids R Kids. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone. We are expecting another child in April so we will have another kiddo in this school. Having peace of mind about the hands your child is in is priceless.

Private Kindergarten at Kids R Kids
My husband and I were debating between sending our daughter to Kids R Kids Private Kindergarten or to public school. We could not be happier with the decision we made by sending our daughter to Kids R Kids Private Kinder. Mrs. Rigg is a GREAT teacher! She is nothing less than amazing! She has the experience needed to guide and teach our children in order to help them excel and be 1st grade ready. She understands what each, individual child needs and spends 1:1 time with them to give them that extra push or to help challenge their minds. The class size is a lot smaller compared to public school, which is extremely important when teaching young minds. There is more attention given to each child based on their individual needs. The curriculum and technology this school has is absolutely outstanding! Mrs. Rigg and Kids R Kids has so much to offer your child. We have seen our daughter evolve into such a great reader and mathematician! Mrs. Rigg goes above and beyond to help each child. We hope every teacher our child has is as dedicated and compassionate as Mrs. Rigg. We hope you make the same decision we did. You will be very pleased and delighted. Good Luck! M. Morani

Private Kindergarten
As a current KRK Kinder parent, I wanted to share with you how I made my decision to stay at KRK for Kinder as well as what we have experienced during the current school year. When it was time to decide between enrolling our child in private kinder at KRK or in a public school we were very torn with the decision. Some items that helped us make our decision were as follows: 1) Small class size – currently our child only has 12 students in their class which gives her a great student- teacher ratio 2) Familiarity – all the staff already knew our child and she knew them 3) Transition – we felt that making a transition in first grade would be easier on our child than switching schools in Kindergarten 4) Location and convenience – there was no change in our daily routine and it was convenient for our needs; also no need for our child to go to another after school program, get on a bus, etc. – safer in other words 5) Ownership involvement – Mr. Gary is just as involved now as he has always been, we feel that his leadership helps make the private Kinder program a step ahead of public school in many different ways whether it is cleanliness, communication, community involvement, etc. During the current school year we have been incredibly pleased with our child’s academic and social achievements. KRK has continued to challenge her and encourage her. As a kindergartener, our child is doing addition, subtraction and counting by 5’s and 10’s and reading at a 99 percentile for her age group. Mrs. Rigg is a fabulous teacher and loves the kids so much. All of the kids are so excited to see her every morning. She does a great job with the kids teaching them not only the required curriculum but also how to treat each other with respect. Just like in the other classes at KRK we have 2 parent-teacher conferences (fall / spring) and Mrs. Rigg is always available via notes and emails or making time to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress. I hope this letter is helpful to you in making your decision for your child. Sincerely, C. Hill

100 on her first Kinder assessments!
My daughter Presley started at Kids R Kids Castle Hills when she was 2 years old. We had her in an in home daycare, feeling it was a nice safe place for her to be. It was. However, we felt is was more "babysitting" than learning. I toured Kids R Kids and was floored by all the technology and experience that the teachers had. From day 1 at KRK I never doubted that this place was the perfect stepping stone to prepare her for kindergarten. We just had her first 9 week Kinder assessment parent/teacher confrence. WOW!!! Not only was Presley ready for Kindergarten, she was the ONLY child in her class to score 100's on every single assessment!!!! Kids R Kids has out of this world teachers and proven results!!!

My daughter is reading at a 2nd grade level!!!
I just wanted to take a second to provide some personal feedback on my experience with Kids are Kids Castle Hills. My daughter Grace attended Kids are Kids for a little over a year and half and through the different stages and class rooms they always provided and ran a first class operation. Since this was my first child I suppose I didn’t really put much though into what she was learning or where she stood educationally in comparison to other kids her age, I just assumed she was too young to be worry about focusing on academics. In August it was time for Grace to move on to a public elementary school in Frisco. At my first parent teacher conference her teacher continued on and on about how well she was doing and had said that she was the best reader in her class. Just before Christmas break and several good job letters home we decided to have her reading level tested. She was reading at a second grade level and when we saw the results we were shocked! The most shocking statement that the tester had said to us is that he had never seen a child this young reading quietly to herself while be able to comprehend everything that was just read. I have to say that this advance start that my daughter has is all thanks to Kids are Kids and their top notch staff. They not only worked with her to understand phonics numbers and computers but they created that spark that made learning fun. Still to this day my daughter still talks about her book buddies and I believe that this program is what really got her interested reading. When I walked in the door to pick up my tax info nearly five months after ever being present at the school they still knew exactly who I was and my daughter’s name and every little detail about her. It was also a great feeling to see Gary Hadley (the owner) played an active role in the daily operation of the facility. This facility is a five star establishment, generally from past experiences with other day cares what I’ve came to realize is that you get what you pay for, but at Kids are Kids you actually are receiving more than what you would expect to receive and no other schools/ daycares can even come close. I highly highly recommend this school I’m so happy that we stumbled upon this great school. -Steve Licari

Private Kinder Experience
I felt our daughter was advanced because of her pre-k experience at Kids R Kids. We did not want to lose that momentum going into kindergarten having her bored. The teacher and program at KRK Private Kinder is set up for individualized instruction and small groups. This way she can be challenged and progress instead of regress. We are thrilled with the program and recommend it highly.

Private Kinder vs. Local Elementary
We went back and forth on sending our daughter to KRK or our neighborhood elementary which is rated very high. In the end, we chose KRK due to the small class size and the opportunity for instruction in a private environment where resources were directed at a program instead of pulled from a program. We could not be happier! She has grown so much in her vocabulary, reading and math skills and overall maturity. She has daily homework that is very manageable but really helps reinforce ideas. She loves doing it and was teaching her older brother about fractions recently! They have a weekly project that parents can help the children do and the kids present each Friday. This has really helped her confidence and related skills. She also gets technology EVERY day whereas my older son had it as a special once a week. You have immediate access to the teacher daily at drop off or pick up (you cant do that at elementary school where the kids line up for bus or car time with a teacher on-duty). The teacher truly cares about each child and the curriculum is exceptional. This was the BEST decision we could have made for our daughter.

Son loves Private Kinder at Kids R Kids Castle Hills
Since he began Private Kinder at KRK, we have been delighted with our sons self-confidence growth as well as his new found enthusiasm for science, math and reading. In addition to the cool field trips, the small kindergarten class size coupled with a great teacher has been ideal to interest and prepare him for elementary school next fall.

Private Kinder at KRK
I chose KRK private kinder because my daughter was approaching kinder and I felt was very delayed. We moved to KRK at the end of her pre k experience coming from another school. She could not completely recognize her letters or numbers. I knew I was going to have her attend kinder twice, and I wanted to start her in a smaller environment where there were less children so she could receive more one-on-one assistance. Since my daughter has been in the kinder program, she has made improvement in leaps and bounds! I am so pleased with the level of learning she has received in such a short period of time. This is a very hands on program. She has been able to really understand and retain the information she is learning. KRK often incorporates a field trip with the topic they are learning about so the kids can really get a visual and hands on learning experience!

Private Kinder at KRK was the Best Decision for our son
Our son has a summer birthday so we were very torn with starting him in the public school kindergarten. So, we jumped at the opportunity for him to stay at Kids R Kids for one more year. We loved the idea of a small class size which enables the teacher to spend more time with each student. Another great thing about the KRK kinder program is that they are incorporating regular field trips and activities into the curriculum to further expand the classroom learning objectives. The teacher is wonderful and goes above and beyond to make sure each child is successful in the classroom. We have been absolutely thrilled with our sons accomplishments this semester. He has learned so much from reading, to math, to improving his writing skills, and the list goes on and on. Choosing to stay at Kids R Kids for private kindergarten was the BEST decision we could have made for our son.

Exceptional Education
Since our son started at Kids R Kids Castle Hills, we have had nothing but positive experiences. He started in the infant room at 8 weeks old and has excelled ever since. The love and care for he has recieved since day 1 is second to none. He is now almost 2 and has progressed so much in his current class. He comes home excited from school... he sings, does sign language, recites his colors, and does activities like brushing his teeth independantly.... all before the age of 2! The teachers in the classroom are absolutely amazing... they communicate exceptionally well, and are always there to offer advice when it is asked of them. I couldn`t imagine having our son anywhere but Kids R Kids. We are truly blessed that he is able to get an exceptional education. Gary, Angel, and the rest of the staff really do care about each family and we cannot thank them enough.

Private Kinder
Two years ago I made the choice to place my children at Kids R Kids Castle Hills. I would not put them anywhere else. We looked around for an environment which would enable them to grow as individuals while also teaching them to function in a classroom setting. I have complete reassurance that my children are loved, well cared for and are learning at a higher level than other centers that are out there. I have never had a "bad drop off" where my kids have not wanted to go to school. They love school. The teachers are professional and communicate well. Any time I have a concern, they are quick to address it and offer multiple solutions which we can collaborate on together. I have had a good rapport with every employee with which I have interacted. Kids R Kids also offers private kindergarten. This was an easy choice for our family since my child was familiar with the school and staff. There is a high level of focus on reading comprehension and phonological awareness. The class size is small, which is important to me, especially in this day when public school staff is being downsized and teacher/student ratios are going up. I do not hesitate to say, choosing a childcare facility is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. Our experience with Kids R Kids has given my children a strong educational foundation as well as helped them begin to develop and build on life skills.

Above and Beyond
I can`t tell you how many times I`ve sat down to write a review of Kids R Kids Castle Hills. I have so many amazing experiences, I`ve never known where to start. We transferred my daughter here after she turned one. Now, 2.5, she still loves it every day. TRULY AMAZING: A few months ago our daughter was really sick and hospitalized. We don`t have family in town, so our friends, neighbors, and the staff at KRK stepped in to help us in any way they could. We were humbled beyond belief! Our first day in the hospital was filled from calls from the front desk staff, office staff and her teachers. The next day we received a visit from Gary (one of the owners), checking in on us. The management team offered to sit with her at the hospital after work and over the weekend, so my husband and I could take little breaks. These are things that you won`t find at any school. It`s different here...they are truly family to us and hundreds of other families, and we couldn`t be more honored to be a part of their school! ABOVE AND BEYOND: I consider myself one of those parents that will do anything I can to provide the best for my daughter. Moving her to KRK has been one of our best decisions. We were recommended by 3 families to move here and since have recommended many others. A few things that really stood out to us about Kids R Kids Castle Hills: The playground is covered and wood chips have been replaced with a soft, turf-like grass, each room is individually ventilated so germs don`t travel around the school, Smartboard, Splash Pad, Little Flippers, Drama and Music Man are all part of the program (my daughter LOVES these), there are cameras in place, so you can check in on your kiddos any time of the day, reviews of teachers and curriculums are sent out quite often (and believe me...they take all ideas into consideration), and there is always someone available to talk to. I find the staff to be exceptional and accommodating, and the lesson plans are age appropriate. LOVE and EDUCATION: My 2 year old knows all of her shapes, letters, colors, almost 50 words in sign language, can count to 20 in English and 10 in Spanish, sings songs, knows a lot of letter sounds, etc...If you`re looking for a school that goes out of their way to educate and love...This is the place!

Best Place for Pre-schoolers
Since my children started attending Kids R Kids in Carrollton, I have seen them grow and learn, and I am impressed with the skills and knowledge they come home with and share! In addition, I have been equally happy with the staff. They are always friendly, helpful, and show genuine concern for my children. Thank you for taking care of my children and teaching them in the spirit of excellence!

Very Blessed!
Thank you! My family and I are far beyond Blessed to have our child in this location. After many....many weeks of searching for the right place. We felt a warm, home feeling with Kids R Kids. Thank you to the entire staff for investing in our childern. As a parent you know that you want the BEST for them, this place offers that and more. Very Blessed!

Thank you!
Just a little feedback for you. You guys are wonderful communicators--truly! I never wonder what`s on the menu, special events calendar, or what`s happening in the classroom. You offer so much more than than the previous Montessori where we were paying a mortgage every month--literally! From Opus music, to Flippers, and now the Smart Board--I am so very impressed with the diverse education my daughter is receiving. She has only attended since August, and I am BEYOND pleased. It`s easy to surmise how your school is winning awards and gaining high praise. Thank you for peace of mind every day--that`s the number one blessing a parent could ask for in a school or childcare environment. My daughter loves to tell me about her day. And she loves the staff, as do I. Everyone knows my name and greets me with enthusiasm. I just can`t tell you how good it feels. My only regret is that we didn`t find you sooner. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

Grandson thriving
Since he started KRK Castle Hills, I have noticed so many changes in my grandson. He talks all the time about his teachers and how he loves them. He is three. When I visit, he sings me songs, tells me about concepts that he is learning(math/literacy) and last week he was spouting out his colors in Spanish and introduced himself to me in Spanish. I was so impressed. This preschool is a "real school"- not a daycare. Also, when I see him on camera, the other kids also all look so happy. KRK Castle Hills combines learning with fun- what could be better for a preschool!
-KF - TX
We just can`t express our appreciation!
When we found KRK, my daughter and son had been through horrible experiences with another daycare in the area. Angel, Gary, Lauren, and the rest of the staff were truly heaven sent to help us. They will do anything to ensure the protection and emotional security of all children entrusted in their care. We love you all!

Excellent Curriculum and Staff
I am very impressed with Kids R Kids. The staff is friendly and they actually care about the kids. Ms. Angel and Mr. Gary, the owners of this wonderful facility are always available and run a very efficient establishment. I appreciate their dedication to having a professional staff and more importantly happy kids. My son loves going to Kids R Kids, he often wakes up on the weekend hoping that it is a week day, so he can attend Kids R Kids.

Our 2nd Family
If you are considering a school for your child, this school is hands-down the BEST DECISION you can make for your child. We chose this school for the consistent curriculums/programs that they have for the schoolers, the warm environment, and the OUTSTANDING TEACHERS! The teachers and staff at this school are very involved and have definitely become our second family. If you can leave your children, go to work with peace of mind - you know your children are in the right hands.

Couldn`t Be Happier
We have two sons aged 2 and 4 that have been with KidsRKids Castle Hills since March 2009 and couldnt be happier. The location owners are accessible, friendly, and care about providing the best pre-school experience possible for each child. The facility itself is fresh, clean, and bright and has the benefit of video so that we can see what our children are doing at any time. Most importantly, the classroom teachers are nurturing and engaging and the children genuinely like going to school every morning. Our 2 year old is proud of the songs he learns and the numbers he can count; and our 4 year old is so excited about his classrooms weekly Show and Tell that he usually plans what to take to talk about a week ahead of time. In short, KRK Castle Hills has given us peace of mind that our children are in a safe and enriching environment every weekday.

Very pleased
We have been at KRK Castle Hills for a year and it was one of the best decisions we made to send our son here. He is very engaged. People often comment that he seems older than two and a half. I`m convinced it is because of the skills he`s learned (intellectually, socially and even potty training) at KRK. Also, the managerial staff has made a real difference. Gary and Angel truly care about our kids and take great interest in their well being, as well as parent feedback. From the web cams to the covered outdoor playards in the hot TX sun -- the tuition is well worth it. I appreciate not getting additional fees through out the year like I experienced elsewhere. They are consistent on every front!
-M. Elliott - TX
Hands on....
Our daughter has been attending KRK since December 2008. The staff worked well with her (and us) to ease her transition. As the staff and school continues to grow and develop there is a true constant, Gary and Angel Hadley (the owners). They care about your child(ren) and your family. They are always available for any concerns you might have, and to make KRK the best school it can become. We are glad we are part of the KRK family.
-M.W. - TX
Summer Camp Rocks
We are so excited to return to Kids R Kids for summer camp this year. They run a five star program with quality field trips and a great variety of in-house activities (including this cool spray water park that all ages of the school get to use in summer). I know the kids are also very safe. My child told me all last summer "they are always counting us and checking roll." I thought that was funny for a second grader but was so reassured to know that when my son is in a "public" area outside the school that the staff is really supervising. He can`t WAIT to go back and looks at his "calendar" all the time!

Best decision
Deciding to put our son in a preschool was a very difficult decision for me, I didn`t want to be away from him! And needless to say, when he started school at Kids R Kids, he had a very difficult time adjusting. But I cannot believe how wonderful not only just the teachers have been, but the rest of the staff as well! Everyone there knows his name and how he is doing. Now instead of crying every morning while getting him dressed, he keeps saying over and over "I go see Miss Cindy! I go see Miss Cindy!". I have noticed such a huge improvement in his development. My son had been in speech therapy for a year prior to starting school because of a speech delay. And since starting school his speech has just blown me away, just within the first week! I love all the projects and artwork he brings home. I am collecting it all, it`s so much fun to see what he is doing every day. I love the staff and teachers, and they have my full trust when it comes to the care of my child.
-C. Green - TX
Best Decision Made
Prior to coming to KRK my girls were in a home dacare center that closed due to the owners health. The previous year had been extremely tough on our family and I was concerned with how the change would affect them. Angel and Gary were absolutely wonderful in understanding my fears and concerns and took the time, then and now, to put them to rest. The staff has been absolutely wonderful, my girls love going up there and I`ve seen such growth in the past 15 months. I dread the thought of kindergarten (in a little more than a yar) and am definitely considering KRK`s private kindergarten should it be available (as another parent said "if Ms. Alissa were the teacher it would be a slam dunk!") From the staff, the internet access, to the availability of "extra curricular" activities KRKs provides my children with the best of everything and I am able to go to work knowing my kids are safe, learning and loved.
-C.T. - TX
Fantastic School!
KRK has been so fantastic. It is so hard to leave your infant to go to work, but knowing that they take such amazing care of my son makes it much easier. They are also fantastic at guiding me along the way... so hard to know what to do sometimes! The infant teachers helped him to transition to a sippy cup, to sit up independantly, and to begin to communicate. I truly feel that they care about my child as an individual and that is so important. It is also nice to be able to check in on him online during the day. I never feel like he is that far away.
-SH - TX
In good hands
After researching and visiting several daycares in the area I finally let go of my little girl when she turned 1 year old KRK staff was the best in all around care and nurturing of my precious miracle baby. The staff greets me daily as if I am their top priority and treats my child as if their own. The teachers are wonderful with the kids and give them lots of one on one attention, yet plenty of room to learn and grow independently as well. Developmentally I can tell a big difference from when I first took her in to KRK. She is talking more, singing and eager to get involved in anything and with anyone ... I contribute this to the hands on approach of the entire staff. The owners Angel and Gary are very involved in the day to day activities and communication with the parents ... in my case - last year I had a near death experience and was hospitalized for a month KRK took special care and gave extra hugs and kisses to my little one who I did not see for a whole month thanks to the internet access to webcams in the school I had daily motivation seeing my little girl throughout the day they even took care of my family sending well wishes and food to my home in my absence. My husband and I are so thankful to know our angel is in a safe and loving environment when she can not be in our own arms. Thanks KRK Sandi & Fernando C. - TX

Smooth Transition for Mommy and Baby
Just wanted to thank you so much for making my transition to work super smooth. The staff in the infant suite is awesome. I have full faith and confidence in them. Every employee I`ve come in contact with has been warm and friendly. They are also extremely helpful. I`m so happy that we are in the Kids R Kids family. I toured many schools before deciding where to place my daughter and KRK was the clear choice! I look forward to many days with Kids R Kids Carrollton!

Nurturing Environment
My wife and I decided on KRK after visiting many day cares in the area. We were most impressed with the facilities and the staff. My son has been at KRK for 9 months now and we love it. The owners, Gary and Angel are there EVERY day. They along with the entire staff genuinely care about my son and other children in their facility. The teachers have gone above and beyond to accommodate our rather unusual feeding schedule. We go to work everyday knowing that our son is in very capable hands. We look forward to many more great years with KRK.

Wonderful decision
What a wonderful school! We have had our daughter in Kids R Kids since they opened in September of 08! It was absolutely the best move we made for our daughter and her education! She has risen to new levels in every area of her life and we are so happy with every thing Kids R Kids offers her to excel in everything! We are expecting our second child in July and it`s so wonderful to know we already have a great day care to be able to go to!

Family
Almost a year ago I was diagnosed with Leukemia. It really "took a village" for our, then, 2 year old. I was in the hospital for about 5 months. We could not have asked for a better place for our son. The whole KRK family has been so supportive of our family situation and willing to help out where they could. We appreciate Angel and Gary more than they could ever know. Our son loves his friends, teachers, and the curriculum. When we first visited the school I was very impressed with the staff. Ms. Emily was his first teacher and she made me feel so comfortable leaving my child there. Now she is one of the directors. The girls are not there just to earn a paycheck, they really do love the kids and have the backgrounds to help teach them pre-school skills.

Peace of mind
Having access to the webcams included has given me great peace of mind with my infant. I know she is getting the attention and 1 on 1 time that she needs, and has access to books, music, and toys.
-S.S. - TX
This is a great school!
Over the past year we`ve been with the school, our older daughter has gone from just starting to spell her own name to an independent reader! She loves her teachers, and she`s learned so much with the pre-k curriculum. My daughter thinks learning is fun, and Kids R Kids has encouraged her natural curiosity and creativity while preparing her for the elementary school environment.
-A.S. - TX
Children Thriving
March 2010 will mark the anniversary date for my two children at KRK. Prior to transferring them from their previous daycare, I had interviewed the KRK management about curriculum and care giver qualifications and overall expectations. I`m happy to say that KRK surpassed our family`s expectations! Our boys are thriving. The small child-to-care giver/teacher ratio is ideal. Both children are learning while they grow in a nurturing and safe environment. Although we`re a year or so out from the decision, we`re already considering KRK for private kindergarten (and if a care giver like Ms. Alissa were to teach that program, then decision would be a slam dunk!)
-L. Lovett - TX
Couldn`t be happier!
Our son started at KRK when he was 6 months old. He is now 19 months old and we have really been impressed with every facet of KRK. He has been through the infant room, the crawler suite, and now is with the toddlers. His teachers and the entire staff have always been great communicators and have shown a genuine interest in getting to know our family. Angel and Gary do a great job of making sure every teacher in the building is highly qualified and loves the kids. We also love the fact that we can watch him at any time on the webcams. We couldn`t be happier with Kids R Kids.
-Jon and Jamie K. - TX
Wonderful School!
After trying several other daycare centers in the area, we are so glad to have found such a great place! Our son loves it here and so do we. The facilities, environment, activities, teachers and staff are all top-notch. We feel our son is in a safe, loving and nurturing environment. He is exposed to great learning experiences and opportunities. He has learned so much since coming to KRK. We also love we can watch him throughout the day right from our desk! We all want the best for our children and have definitely found that here!
-C. & K. Lavalais - TX
Fantastic Place!
My entire family loves Kids R Kids! My 2 sons started attending during a very difficult health period of my life in September 08. The staff was amazing with both boys and very supportive of me as I recovered from several surgeries. My youngest child attended their Pre-K program last year and his teacher was the best!! He started Kindergarten this year more than prepared. He still attends the after school program and summer camp. He loves it and I never have to worry about him while at Kids R Kids because I know he is always in great hands!

This 'Sesame Street' episode can help you talk to your kids about Harvey

Hurricane Harvey & Helping Your Child Cope With Natural Disasters

On August 25th, Hurricane Harvey made landfall along the Texas coast, bringing powerful winds and heavy rainfall with it. After days of non-stop rain, Houston and many other regions were left in shambles, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to walk away from what was once their home. While this devastation undoubtedly affects many people’s jobs, daily routines, and mental health, it is important to remember that children are affected as well.

It can be difficult for young children to grasp natural disasters and why and how they occur. Children cope with events such as this differently depending on their age, but they are all susceptible to its negative impact. Whether your child was directly impacted by Hurricane Harvey or not, these tips for coping with natural disasters are sure to help your family move forward no matter what you face in the future.

Talk About It

One of the best ways to help your child process what has happened is by discussing the events that have occurred. Explain the disaster in logical terms so your child can fully understand why or how things have changed. Most importantly, allow your child to express his or her emotions about what has taken place, and listen to their worries or fears. By creating a safe space for your child to share their feelings, they will be less likely to bottle up or hold onto any negative emotions. A wonderful resource on how to discuss natural disasters with children can be found in this Sesame Street episode, where Big Bird’s friends help him rebuild his nest after a storm.

Maintain A Routine

Your child can hold onto a sense of normalcy by maintaining their typical routine in whatever way possible. Try to stick with their normal bed/wake up time in order to ensure they’re getting enough sleep. Allow them time to learn and play, and stick with any rules you would enforce on a daily basis. Many parents feel the need to coddle children in the midst of a disaster, but sticking to a routine can provide a sense of safety and security.

Be Patient

Remember – each child processes natural disasters differently. While one child may appear totally unaffected, another could display symptoms of anxiety or even depression. Be patient as your little one copes with how their life has changed, and know that it could take weeks, months, or even years for them to fully recover. Love, comfort, and patience go a long way when helping your child move past a difficult time.

On August 2nd, 2017, the students of Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills returned to AT&T Stadium to participate in the 2017 Kids ‘R’ Kids Summer Olympics. Children competed in a variety of fun and exciting games, from the javelin throw to the olympic ring toss. However, this fun-filled event wasn’t just about friendly competition - it was about coming together to raise awareness for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

Scottish Rite Hospital is “one of the nation’s leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries, as well as certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia” (https://community.tsrhc.org/KRKDonation). Patients at Scottish Rite receive treatment regardless of the family's ability to pay. This is why Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills, along with the other 8 schools who participated, were thrilled to be able to help raise $12,446.59 for the many patients in need.

The games concluded with Kids ‘R’ Kids of Keller winning the trophy for the most funds raised, Kids ‘R’ Kids of East Allen winning the spirit award, and Kids ‘R’ Kids of West McKinney winning the ultimate prize for dominating the games. Regardless of who took home the trophy, the children of Castle Hills had an absolute blast competing in the games, all while making a difference in the lives of others.

Your Infant’s Path to the First Steps

The acquisition of language plays a major role in your child’s overall cognitive development. While most infants under the age of one are not able to speak yet, there are a number of effective techniques that you can employ in order to develop language skills in your baby. The infant care team at Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills in Carrollton, Texas, explores a few of these techniques.

Communicate with your infant

Most infants will begin producing a number of simple sounds by the time they are six months old. These can include gurgling sounds, giggling and some sounds that your infant hears and tries to imitate. Infant care professionals encourage you to repeat these sounds back to your infant but more clearly. Another way to communicate with your child is to simply narrate the day’s happenings to your infant.

Reading

It is never too early to start reading to your infant. Head down to your local bookstore and find a couple of visually appealing cardboard books. Cardboard books are best for babies because they are durable. Read to your infant every day and, as he or she gets older, find more age appropriate books and help your baby follow along with the pictures. Reading will develop a love of books in your child as well as set the stage for successful language acquisition.

Link movements and actions to words and sentences

This is an outstanding technique for developing language in infants. You can narrate the action while carrying it out. For example, as you pick up a few of your baby’s toys, you can speak and show the action to your infant. By doing this, you will help your infant connect words to action, making the connection as you repeat this process. Repetition is key for language acquisition.

Keeping track of your child’s development through the use of developmental milestones is a way for you to determine whether or not your child is progressing at a normal rate. It is important to note that some toddlers and preschoolers hit different developmental milestones slightly earlier or later than others. Consult your pediatrician to learn more about developmental milestones to better monitor your child’s progress.

Twelve months

At one year after birth your child is already mobile. It is important to remember to childproof your home so that your child can explore safely. Shortly after the first year, your child will take the first few unaided steps into walking. Also at this time, your child should be able to utter a few clearly discernible words but not be quite able to string together a full sentence.

Eighteen months to two years

Child-proofing your home becomes even more important during this period as your toddler will be completely mobile and getting into everything. Your toddler will start running, skipping and jumping by the age of two. Language development is also progressing with your toddler being able to construct and speak simple, understandable sentences.

Three to five years

Your child will be climbing, swinging, jumping and running. He or she will also be able to hold a comprehensible conversation with other children or with another adult. You may also introduce him or her to self-dressing by the age of four, if your child has not already taken an interest in dressing.

A healthy, balanced diet is the cornerstone on which sound brain development is built. Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills in Carrollton, Texas will take a closer look at some of the foods you should consider in order to facilitate healthy brain development for your child.

Fish

Fatty fish is a great source of both vitamin D and omega-3s, which studies have proven protect the human brain from cognitive decline. There are a number of child-friendly food options including sardines, tuna, and salmon. These all require very little preparation and are ideal for school lunches. Parents should be advised to avoid fish species like king mackerel, tilefish, and most shark species because they contain high levels of mercury.

Berries

Berries make a fantastic snack between meals for your preschooler or toddler. Blueberries and strawberries both contain high amounts of antioxidants which preliminary studies have shown to improve cognitive development. Further studies have shown that the antioxidants found in strawberries and blueberries have the ability to combat diseases and conditions such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Beef

Millions of preschoolers, toddlers, and infants suffer from some sort of iron deficiency. A lack of iron leading to iron deficiencies can pave the ways for a sharp decline in cognitive development and ability. Adding healthy servings of beef to meals is one of the best ways to meet your child’s iron requirements as it is one of the best absorbed sources of iron.

The team at Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills in Carrollton, Texas, encourages healthy eating in order to promote sound brain development. Contact us to find out more about our child care programs and facility.

Your child will hit many developmental milestones after he or she reaches preschool age, and one of the most important is self-dressing. We will take a closer look at what can happen when your preschooler starts self-dressing, and how you can deal with these issues.

Mistakes will naturally occur

Your child will end up making mistakes when he or she starts to self-dress. The mistakes can range from mismatched clothes to simply putting a shirt or blouse on inside-out. Remain positive when your child makes a mistake while getting dressed. Instead of being negative about the fact that a particular garment is being worn incorrectly, praise your child for making the effort and gently explain how the particular piece of clothing should work.

Exercise great understanding

You may find that your toddler will be changing outfits several times on any given day once he or she learns to dress. You may walk into your child’s bedroom to find outfits strewn across the floor. Understand that your child is learning, and a negative reaction from mom or dad could set this development back.

Your child may be overly eccentric when dressing

One thing that nearly all parents will come across when toddlers begin self-dressing is the use of overly eccentric outfits. Try not to criticize your child for choosing a particular outfit, but suggest a change when the situation makes it necessary.

The childcare professionals at Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills in Carrollton, Texas invite you and your preschooler to stop by and take a look at our world class program and facilities. Contact us today to arrange for a visit.

The stages of your infant’s brain development will generally follow a straightforward and often predictable schedule. Your baby may reach some milestones earlier than other infants and reach others later. This is not something to worry about, as it usually means that the brain is prioritizing a particular set of skills. Here are some general guidelines of the stages of brain development in infants. Since each child develops individually, remember that these are only guidelines.

Week 1 – 16

During the first four months of your infant’s brain development, he or she will begin to respond to various motor and sensory stimuli. This means that interesting lights, bright colors, and certain sounds will attract your infant’s attention. He or she will start to track the movements of objects and people in the range of vision, while not quite making the connection beyond this range.

Week 16 – 24

Your infant will be able to recognize familiar faces such as family members and will respond by babbling or smiling when spoken to. Your baby will also begin to explore the world by swiping at or grabbing objects, often putting them in the mouth.

Week 25 – 48

Your infant will now be more mobile and will be crawling, sitting, and even taking a few steps. In addition to new found physical abilities, your baby’s mental capacity is increasing, too. Your baby will begin to say his or her first words, will be able to repeat actions from memory, and will be able to find objects hidden from view.

Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills, Texas, offers much more than your average child care center, including specialized infant care programs. For more information regarding our programs, facilities, or staff, contact us today.

Parents with infants and preschool children should make the selection of an excellent preschool their top priority. To optimize the development of each child, a rich nurturing environment is required. An excellent, professional child care staff is necessary to provide the right support and loving attention, while encouraging a child to learn and prosper.

Your child’s infant and preschool years are a period in which experience is vital to laying the foundation of the brain circuits dedicated to motor control. The primary motor circuits that connect to the cerebellum, which controls posture and coordination, are formed during the first two years. These early years are extremely important to the successful development of a child’s brain. We provide one-on-one attention in a nurturing environment to help promote this development.

During the important preschool phase of your child’s learning experience, it is critical for you to focus on maximizing his or her brain development. At home and in the classroom, the information and skills which he or she will learn during this time form the foundation for all future learning. Parents should carefully consider the type of preschool education that they want for their child.

At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills, we understand preschool education and have experts who know how to teach and care for your child for the best results. Our AdvancED accredited preschool program and exclusive curriculum is designed to maximize your child’s development in a holistic, comprehensive manner. Since education starts in the family environment, it is important to understand why home education is as important as preschool education.

The early years

From birth, your child’s brain development is exponential. All of the experiences that your infant is exposed to will act upon the brain and create links and associations. The important focus a parent should have at this stage is unconditional love and physical connection. Playing with, reading to and holding your child are all important for bonding. This bonding will form the basis for his or her self-esteem and emotional security. Your child will learn about adult interactions from you.

Preschool

Preschool is the time in your child’s life for building the foundation for his or her future educational career. This includes not only basic skills such as numbers and letters, but also social, emotional and physical development. This stage, when developed properly, can make the transition to more formal schooling much easier and more successful.

At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills, we know that preschool education is enhanced via playtime and having fun, which is why we make sure to incorporate fun into our curriculum. When it comes to teaching your child at home, you can also include fun in activities such as reading and counting. Letting your child explore freely under your close supervision is another great way to promote learning.

At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills, we provide a high quality, holistic and engaging preschool education with our AdvancED accredited preschool program and exclusive curriculum. Contact us today.

  • The first four weeks: Known as the neonatal period, the first month of your child’s life is characterized by fragility and requires gentle treatment. Her brain will start to change from a mass of mostly unconnected brain cells as it begins building neural pathways in response to sensory stimulus. Your child will learn to pick out your voice but she will only be able see about forty inches away.
  • 2-3 months: These months are full of milestones, from developing the ability to hold her head steady while supported to rolling over from side to back. Your child will start to develop better control over her arms and legs, and to recognize familiar faces. She will also respond to gentle play.
  • 4-6 months: This is when she will learn how to roll from her back to her side and sit with support. Everything in reach will be grasped and put into her mouth, so careful supervision is necessary. Your child’s attention will be drawn to moving objects and she will focus on familiar people as they move around. Laughing and babbling will start as her language skills begin.
  • 7-9 months: Your child will likely be able to sit unaided at this stage and will start crawling around, eventually pulling up on furniture into a standing position. She will have developed a preference for specific toys and activities and may start mimicking the expressions of parents and caregivers, responding strongly to emotional gestures.
  • 10-12 months: At this stage, your child will start to want to feed herself at meals, picking up food between the thumb and forefinger. Movement will involve trying to walk, eventually resulting in her first steps. Language development usually reaches a milestone at this stage with her first word or two.

A great way to stimulate your child’s mental and physical development is to expose them to interesting new sensory experiences. Infant swimming classes at WaterKids not only give you and your child a fun bonding experience, they also teach your child an essential life skill.

At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills, we have the leading Brain Waves Curriculum which is designed to provide the right amount of stimulation through sensory play and other activities. This curriculum optimizes mental and physical development in children from the ages of six weeks to five years.

At our child care Learning Academy in Carrollton, parents want to know the benefits of a Learning Academy compared to the services of a nanny. It is important to look at the benefits the different options provide:

Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy offer benefits that a nanny cannot

  1. Your child's safety is our priority: We have a competent staff of professionals that ensure your infant's safety. Our facilities provide security fencing and video surveillance.
  2. Constant learning through play: Your child will be interacting with other children his/her own age and have exposure to the latest in developmental toys and education practices.
  3. There's always someone available: We have more than one faculty member per class at all times.
  4. Developmental programs and structured curriculum: Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills offers early developmental and stimulation programs for your child. This opportunity assists each child to develop to the best of his/her ability. Additionally, our Academy can accommodate children from 6 weeks up to 12 years. As your child grows, he/she will develop social skills through interactions, not only with our faculty, but with other children.
  5. Acceptable behavioral habits are encouraged: Socially acceptable skills are taught from an early stage. Children learn to communicate with children in the same age group. Support is offered to parents if difficult behavior is identified in their child.

Our Learning Academy can provide parents peace of mind that a child is safe, healthy and happy from infancy to preschool and beyond. At Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills we make it our priority to provide your child with a learning focused environment helping him/her to achieve a successful future.
